Incarceration and Families: What is the Toll on Children? Interview with Dr. Nneka Jones Tapia

Our Managing Director of Justice Initiatives, Dr. Nneka Jones Tapia, was invited by Discovery Museum and the Chicago Children’s Museum to give a presentation that addressed the contact visitation initiative that resulted from the pilot visitation Chicago Beyond, the Sheriffs Department and the Chicago Children’s Museum hosted. Every person who is incarcerated at the Cook County jail now has access to contact visitation because of the vision of Sheriff Tom Dart, and because of this multi stakeholder coalition that came together that included Chicago Beyond the Chicago Children’s Museum, the center for Childhood resilience at Lori Children’s Hospital.
